Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large apples (like Honeycrisp or Gala), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

- Spread the apple slices evenly in an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour and certified gluten-free oats.
- Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your apples.
