- 3–4 pound chuck roast
- 1 (1 ounce) packet dry ranch seasoning mix
- 1 (1 ounce) packet dry onion soup mix
- 1/2 cup butter, cut into pats
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup pepperoncini peppers, with juice
Instructions
- Place the chuck roast in your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the dry ranch seasoning mix and dry onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
- Arrange the pats of butter on top of the roast.
- Pour the beef broth around the roast.
- Add the pepperoncini peppers and their juice to the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the roast is tender and shreds easily.
- Shred the pot roast with two forks directly in the slow cooker, or remove and shred before returning to the juices.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes, noodles, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious juices.
- You can add potatoes and carrots to the slow cooker during the last 2-3 hours of cooking.
