  • 34 pound chuck roast
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into pats
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup pepperoncini peppers, with juice

Instructions

  1. Place the chuck roast in your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the dry ranch seasoning mix and dry onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
  3. Arrange the pats of butter on top of the roast.
  4. Pour the beef broth around the roast.
  5. Add the pepperoncini peppers and their juice to the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the roast is tender and shreds easily.
  7. Shred the pot roast with two forks directly in the slow cooker, or remove and shred before returning to the juices.
  8. Serve hot.
