  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)
  • 1 cup steamed or roasted vegetables (like broccoli, carrots, or bell peppers)
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari (optional)
  • Fresh herbs or green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Stir in smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add soy sauce or tamari if using. Mix well.
  7. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for a couple of minutes to blend the flavors.
  8. In serving bowls, place a base of cooked rice or quinoa.
  9. Top with steamed or roasted vegetables.
