Instructions

  1. Place chopped apples, water, and lemon juice in a large saucepan.
  2. Cover and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until apples are very tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat. Mash the apples with a potato masher or fork for a chunky texture, or use an immersion blender for a smoother consistency.
