Description

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
  • 1 (16 oz) jar salsa
  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth (optional, for thinner sauce)
  • 1216 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Desired toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
  3. Pour salsa over the chicken. Add water or chicken broth if desired for a thinner sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is easily shredded.
  5. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
