Description
This easy crockpot chicken tacos recipe makes flavorful, shreddable chicken perfect for tacos, quesadillas, or salads. Simply combine chicken, taco seasoning, and salsa in your slow cooker for a delicious meal.

- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
- 1 (16 oz) jar salsa
- 1/4 cup water or chicken broth (optional, for thinner sauce)
- 12–16 small flour or corn tortillas
- Desired toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime wedges
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
- Pour salsa over the chicken. Add water or chicken broth if desired for a thinner sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is easily shredded.
- Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
- Serve warm in tortillas with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, use a hot salsa.
- Leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
- This chicken is also great for quesadillas, burritos, or on salads.
