Ingredients
Scale
- 6 medium apples
- 6 wooden skewers
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon red food coloring (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Remove the stems.
- Insert a wooden skewer firmly into the stem end of each apple.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Cook without stirring until it reaches 275°F (135°C) on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat. Stir in food coloring (if using), vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

Notes
- For a smoother coating, ensure your apples are completely dry.
- Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature readings.
- Experiment with different toppings like sprinkles, chopped nuts, or drizzles of chocolate after coating.
